About the role
Senior Special Products Trader – We are seeking a senior special products trader who will generate substantial Pnl for the company. This position will report to the Global Head of Trading. The candidate would come as a trained professional and expert in his designated traded products, i.e. bitumen, sulfur, base oil and other products, with a deep understanding of the products’ chemical composition, the operational side of its physical trading as well as excellence in its risk management. The candidate would already possess a solid portfolio or suppliers and buyers enabling him to start generating Pnl starting on day one.
This role will be based out of our Pfaeffikon, Switzerland office.
Key responsibilities
Responsible for the development of global trading and asset opportunities in specialty oil products.
Good understanding of, and ability to trade in, adjacent industrial markets such as construction materials or fertilizers.
Special focus on the Far East, particularly China, for trading and arbitrage, including domestic trading.
Experience managing the financial risk of a book of specialty products, including hedging and position trading of illiquid products.
Ability to manage distinct shipping requirements for various speciality products.
About you
Ideal candidate will have a university degree (mathematics, business, economics, finance or statistics) with at least 5 years of proven experience in trading speciality products in multiple geographic regions, including the Far East, and a track record of entering new markets for investment and trading in these products.
You are able to draw upon an extensive book of contacts of suppliers, logistics providers and end users in multiple geographic regions to provide global coverage for each product. You will be proficient at using financial derivatives to manage exposure to niche products, subject to well-defined risk limits.
You must be fluent in English. Knowledge of Chinese would also be highly beneficial.
